About the Band

Endorsements

If you were around the Joplin/Springfield area back in the mid to late 90's, you may remember Southern Green?!? Southern Green played many shows around the area, and opened for many major acts such as: John Anderson, Belemy Brothers, Ricky Van Shelton, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, just to name a few..... After a sucessful 5 year run, the band went their seperate ways.

- Jon went on to play lead guitar, harmonica and sing with David Alan Coe

  from 2001 to 2008

- Jason went on to play with Mark Chapman in "Lost Highway" from 2001 to

2006 and from 2006-2008 played in the Mark Chapman Band

- Chuck took some time off to and stayed in the loop playing around the area

and filling in where needed....... In 2006, Joined Jason in the Mark

  Chapman band.

In late 2008, Jon took some time off the road with David Allen Coe and after a few weeks got the "itch" to start playing again. He called up Jason and Chuck and asked if they'd be interested in playing again. At first, it was just part-time, but after a change of events (as of January 1, 2009) it is now full-time........ Things just seemed to click like old times right off the bat! In March 2009, our drummer James left the band to persue other job opertunities and enjoy life with his lovely new bride...... so this brings us to the newest addition of Paul on drums. Paul has been a long time friend of Chucks and a long time fan of Southern Green.... Paul is a rock drummer, with a country soul.... This further locks in the sound that is konwn as "Southern Green".

That brings us to the current line-up of Southern Green!
